Carefully selecting ingredients to support ideas we believe in not only makes sense, it also makes our meals taste great.
We have high standards on veggies, they must be fresh so we carefully inspect all vegetables delivered to our kitchen. Whenever possible we chose organic produce farmed in our region.
All soy that goes into our foods is always from non-GMO and certified organic soybeans.
We carefully select our suppliers of meat and seafood and through our sourcing, we aim to contribute to the improvement of animal welfare.
- All of the beef in our classic ready meals is currently grass-fed beef from Australia.
- We aim to only buy hormone free pork. At the moment we are using Australian pork.
- Our chicken is usually free range.
- All fish and seafood used are strictly from sustainable sources.
It is important to us to be confident about everything that goes into our foods. When possible we buy whole spices, then roast and grind them to ensure maximum flavor and control of the raw ingredients. For our stews, tagine, and curries, we buy whole spices and make our own in-house spice blends and pastes.
We slow cook our own vegetable stock in-house using fresh onions, leeks, carrots, celery, bay leaf and canola oil. This stock then goes into cooking our lentils, beans, tomato sauces and even veggie lasagna sauce. We make it ourselves to ensure we get a flavor-packed base without any additives, preservatives and for GAFELL Green, 100% plant-based.
Nuts and nut milk
At the moment we process almonds and cashew nuts in our kitchen. We buy nuts whole and roast and soak them to make cashew milk that goes into the veggie lasagna, and the almond flakes that is topped on our curries.
